Who We Are
A Lodge Built to Last
Centennial Lodge No. 84 is a blue lodge of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Colorado. We meet in downtown Denver, in one of the oldest and most storied Masonic buildings in the Rocky Mountain West. We have been doing so for a long time.
The men of this lodge come from every corner of life — from the trades and the professions, from military service and public safety, from the neighborhoods of Denver and the towns beyond. What they share is a commitment to the three great tenets of the Craft: Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. That commitment is what makes a lodge, and it is what has kept this one going.
OUR HISTORY
The Centennial State's Own Lodge
Centennial Lodge No. 84 traces its roots to [charter year], when a group of Colorado men petitioned the Grand Lodge for a charter and received one. The number 84 places the lodge squarely in Colorado's formative years — a time when the state was still finding its footing, and Freemasonry was woven into the civic fabric of nearly every Colorado community.
Colorado became a state in 1876 — the centennial year of American independence, which is how it earned the name the Centennial State. The lodge's name carries that same spirit. It is a name that honors the founding generation and the principles they built this country on.
Over the decades the lodge has moved, merged, and adapted as Denver grew around it. It has outlasted silver booms and recessions, two world wars, and every shift the city has seen. Today it meets at 1614 Welton Street — the historic Denver Masonic Temple, built in 1889 — as it has for more than 130 years.

Ask a member of Centennial Lodge No. 84 what keeps him coming back, and he will probably not mention the ritual first. He will mention the men.
This is a lodge where the bonds are genuine. Brothers here have served together in uniform, worked beside each other in their communities, and shown up for one another in the ways that matter most. The diversity of background is part of the strength — a lodge where a retired soldier sits beside a young tradesman, and both are better for the conversation.
Among our members are veterans of every branch of the United States Armed Forces, active and retired law enforcement officers, and men from nearly every profession and walk of life. No one background defines us. The apron levels all distinctions at the door.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Something Larger Than Yourself
Freemasonry does not ask a man to leave his faith, his politics, or his convictions at the door. It asks him to hold them with humility, to treat the man across the lodge room with respect, and to leave better than he arrived.
Centennial Lodge No. 84 takes that obligation seriously. We are not a social club, though the fellowship is genuine. We are not a charity, though we give back to our community every year. We are a fraternity — one of the oldest in the world — and we practice what that word actually means.
